We still can't believe we were paddleboarding through these gorgeous canyons on Lake Powell! #surreal

We rented paddleboards from Lake Powell Paddleboards and Kayaks. It's a tiny shop with a cute and colorful theme, Kokopellis everywhere, it has a total Arizona feel!

Paddleboards are $40 for a full day. Thank goodness we had this amazing Jeep Wrangler that we rented from Turo because we had to strap the paddleboards onto the roof and drive just a few miles to the launch, which we didn't realize. They gave us a map and explained to us how to get to where we wanted to go.

You can check out their website here https://lakepowellpaddleboards.com.

We got there late, of course, so we didn't have much time before the sun went down but we just decided to go for it anyways, #yolo. We probably made it about 4 out of the 6 miles and decided we needed to turn around and go back. We were already late to return the paddleboards and we didn't want to get caught out in the middle of nowhere once the sun went down. We barely had service on our cellphones and no flashlights. 🤦🏼‍♀️

We hauled a$$ to get back before the sun went down. We made it just in time, literally it was about 2 minutes away from complete darkness! 😰We felt bad because the paddleboard shop had already closed and the owners of the business had to come back to meet us so we could return the boards. I think they charged us $25 each as a late fee. (oops)

When we got to Lake Powell, it was a gorgeous sunny day. Not many people were out either, we probably only saw 2 other people on the lake. It was nice and quiet.

Even though our experience had some unexpected bumps, nothing beats being out in the middle of the canyons. This is something we HAVE to redo because apparently the canyons start to become more and more narrow that you can literally touch both sides with your hands! We did make the most of our time and this won't be our last time! What is something epic that you did that you wish you could re-do?
